Universal Entertainment Considers Japan IR Opportunity

The parent company of Okada Manila stated that a second bidding phase for Japanese integrated resorts (IRs) has revived the market’s potential. However, the group has yet to determine its involvement in a consortium or its investment framework.

Japan will be accepting applications for the second round of IR licenses from May 6 to November 5, 2027.
Universal Entertainment stated it “remains cautious” and has not finalized any decisions regarding participation or organizational structure.
